May 22 on Discovery Life at 7 pm Pacific and 10 pm Eastern.
The series is called Diagnose Me and this episode is called Cold Blooded.
Discovery Life will highlight the story of Dale Sears, an Alliance for Cryoglobulinemia patient member. Marianne Vennitti, Director of Alliance for Cryoglobulinemia, was contacted by the producer, who found her through our website. The producer wanted to connect with a person living with the rare form of vasculitis called Cryoglobulinemia. After months of looking for a patient and discussions Dale and his wife Carolyn Sears agreed to share their story. The life of a patient living with cryoglobulinemia can be very challenging and getting diagnosed is often difficult. So it is a natural fit for a show called Diagnose Me to feature Alliance member Dale Sears’ story of getting diagnosed and obtaining treatment.
Alliance for Cryoglobulinemia is a patient lead organization founded by Marianne Vennitti and myself Eileen Propp. It gives Marianne and I great pleasure to know that we played a role in raising awareness for our orphan disease – Cryoglobulinemia. We are grateful for the courage Dale and Carolyn Sears have shown in sharing their struggle with cryo. Alliance for Cryoglobulinemia was founded to give support to patients, sponsor research and raise awareness. Alliance for Cryoglobulinemia runs two support groups for people living with cryo and has 200 plus members.
